Screen shot 2015-01-18 at 2.22.47 PM

So I always love experimenting with new and healthy recipes for my kids to eat.

SUCCESS!

YAY!

(Doesn’t always work out lol)

What you’ll need…

1 1/4 cup of Gluten free all purpose flour

1/2 cup of cocoa powder (I used organic)

3/4 cup of Gluten free rolled oats

2 tbsp of organic agave nectar

1 cup of almond milk

1/4 cup of almond oil (or oil of choice)

1 tsp of baking powder

2 tsp of vanilla extract

1 drop of YL Cinnamon oil

Directions

Heat up waffle maker. Mix all ingredients together. The mixture must be easily pourable and not too thick or runny. Add more flour if it’s too runny or more almond milk if it’s too thick. Butter up the waffle maker with Earth Balance Vegan butter (this will give the outside a good flavor). Pour mixture and allow maker to do it’s job!

VIOLA!!

*Known facts about cinnamon oil: Potent in supporting proper immune system function during times of sickness, supports normal inflammatory response, provides hostile environment to bacteria and viruses.

Basil Citrus Water

Screen shot 2015-01-18 at 2.03.10 PM

I LOVE this water (And I’m not the biggest fan of flavored water).

Not only is this water delicious, but it has awesome health benefits as well. The contents that help make this water so tasty have properties in them that help stabilize normal water retention and blood circulation, immune boosters, constituents that help support normal respiratory function, and a natural detox to our system.

Heard enough? lol

So here’s what you need…

1 organic orange (sliced)

1 organic lemon (sliced)

1 small package of organic basil chopped

10 drops of YL’s Citrus Fresh

a GLASS dispenser

All you have to do is fill with water, put contents in and mix!!!

I served this at a Raindrop Therapy class I taught and everyone loved it!!!

In a separate dish, place about 1/2-1 cup of gluten-free breadcrumbs and place one drop of YL Oregano oil and mix. Roll balls around in crumb mixture. Place in pan oil of choice ( I had almond and canola oil mixture because that’s all I had at the time) and set to med-high heat. Set balls in oil. Cook about a minute on each side all around (just roll around to check if your time might vary).

Then serve! I served mine with my favorite organic marinara sauce.

Avocado facts: although high in fats, these fats are known as the “good fats” and can be incorporated into our diet in moderate amounts. Plus, they provide a good source of Vitamin B and potassium!

Comfort Pops!

sorethroatpops

Trying to invent new ways for your kids to take in organic? Better yet, something that will help comfort their throat?

Try these awesome COMFORT POPS that I made using Young Living Essential Oils!

NEEDED:

-1 cup of organic honey

-6 drops of YL lemon essential oil

-1-2 drops of Thieves essential oil

-candy thermometer (I purchased mine at Walmart)

-lollipop sticks

-parchment paper

DIRECTIONS:

-Heat honey up to 305°F

-Let cool to at least 250-200°

-Add essential oils to honey

-In a timely manner (because you have to work very quickly before honey hardens), take a spoon and scoop up desired amount and place onto parchment paper (about the typical size of a sucker) at least 2 in apart

-Also in a timely fashion, place lollipop sticks in the center of each dropped amount of honey (helpful tip: once placed in middle of drop, twist stick so honey can cover all around)

-Allow to harden

-You can wrap each pop individually in parchment paper and refrigerate for later!

ENJOY!
