Relief From Breastfeeding Discomfort the Natural Way!

Ok, so I just recently went back to work working as a nurse. Because I’m use to breastfeeding almost every hour, being away from baby, especially working as a nurse, caught up with me. Today at work, I FORGOT MY PUMP!! A mistake that I WILL NEVER make again…

The last few hours for me was literal hell on earth. I went through an all natural labor and birth and I would have to say that the constant pain that I experienced tonight came awfully close, if not a tie. Once I got off of work, I rushed to pick up my kids from my mom’s house. I was dying to relieve the pressure. Because I was so engorged full of milk, my infant didn’t quiet eat enough to relieve all the pressure and pain that had built up. I of course did not have the oils I needed on me, but luckily my mom had a few. I was aching for Copaiba because I knew I had to get the inflammation down. My mom unfortunately did not have that so I used her Stress Away instead because I knew it had a little of Copaiba blended in there. Stress away paired with Frankincense was the only thing that was allowing me to tolerate the pain of feeding the baby. The pain was so intense for me. I could not wait to get home, pump, and apply more oils.

Once I was able to bare to move, much less drive, I made it home. The first thing I did was apply Copaiba, Frankincense, and Melrose because I knew all were good for supporting normal inflammatory response. I knew I also had to drink plenty of water so I could flush out what I knew was clogged. Boy I tell you, instant relief. I was able to nurse and pump without crying. I’m even pumping again while I’m writing this blog. For me to even be able to function and type a coherent post speaks leaps and bounds. I thank God so much for these oils. I’m literally not just saying that. I want to post any personal testimony I can because readers deserve to know natural remedies exist and WORK!!!

So what is my “Bye Bye Clogged Milk” regimen???

1. Apply these oils ASAP

2. Drink plenty of water to flush out clogged ducts

3. Massage out “knots” while feeding or pumping

4. Pump and/or feed often

5. Rest

6. Pray : )

I promise you relief.

My Immune System Boost!

Ok, so my essential oils are all I have to keep me going. I don’t get sick often, but when I do, my oils are my 1st line of defense.  There’s a difference in not seeking medical advice or skipping out on meds altogether (which is not what we’re doing or suggesting). This is our first “go-to”. If the oils fail to improve, then of course I’m going to the doctor. I’m a registered nurse so I have somewhat of an advantage with “going with my gut”. However, everyone is born with a brain and everyone is capable and has the resources to be their own health advocates. Research. Research. Research.

With all that said…

This is what I happened on my “cruddy day”:

I was feeling somewhat weak all day…aches, chills, fatigue, the works. I came home from work and I just felt worse. I couldn’t move to get out of bed. My husband was gracious enough to make me this pretty little concoction for me…

nigxiathieves

A shot of Ningxia Red with 2 drops of Thieves oil. I took this and the first thing I noticed was that my throat was comforted. The clove in the Thieves started to have a numbing effect which was heavenly. I was able to feel life again throughout my body. I have 3 kids… 6, 2, and 4 months. I still breastfeed and I must stay functional. I took this bad boy every 2-3 hrs the first night then about 4 times the next day. Within 24 hr I was back cleaning the house. I cannot tell you how much that speaks leaps and bounds. AMAZING. LITERALLY. The Ningxia and Thieves gave my immune system the boost it needed.

My general rule of thumb for myself when taking the oils when I’m feeling cruddy, is that I’m thinking of it as “fighting an army with an army”. I want to stay consistent and persistent. One shot of something isn’t gonna cut it. I have to keep taking it. I have to stay hydrated. THAT IS KEY AS WELL. KEEP DRINKING WATER. You may not have much of an appetite, and that’s ok. I find  as long as I’m staying hydrated and taking oils, my body is comforted. Also, allow your body to rest. Believe me, when you’re weak enough anyway, that’s all you will be able to do. Just let yourself do so.

I thank God everyday for these oils. A healthy alternative that I go to first. Every oil has it’s different uses and benefits. Thieves is just one of my oils I use whenever I’m feeling bleh. Paired with Ningxia, it’s phenomenal.

I cannot say enough about this awesome duo. I’ll choose this any day.

Cheers to a healthy life!
